Digital Transformation

Task
For the Bavarian metalworking industry association, a fragmented system landscape was to be consolidated and the digital process landscape fundamentally rebuilt.
Approach
Working with design, copy and IT, consulting, conception and implementation came from a single source. The existing Access-based landscape was replaced with a Filament-based environment built around the principle of a leading system, digitising central administrative and member processes.
On that foundation, the digital presence was rebuilt with Statamic and cleanly connected to the rest of the system landscape. A Single Sign-On system across all systems rounded off the implementation.
Building on this, additional digital offerings such as an apprenticeship search across all member companies were designed and rolled out.
Outcome
The result is a central digital platform with a portal for around 2,000 members, a modern website and digitised association processes.
Digital Insurance Sales

Task
As part of a brand relaunch in the insurance sector, the digital presence was to be strategically and visually realigned. The goals: clearer user guidance, stronger brand presence and a comprehensible digital purchase process.
Approach
Brand workshop, conception, UX and implementation came together with design, copy and media. At the core of the solution: a digital assistant with multi-step wizards that guides users through online insurance purchases in a structured and understandable way. In parallel, the website, content, translations and a new API for internal management were built.
A deliberately lean checkout combined with Stripe integration enabled seamless digital contract closure, including instant insurance confirmation right after the booking.
The information architecture was also designed so that domain context is cleanly available for AI-supported search and new search patterns around insurance products.
Outcome
The result is a consistent digital brand foundation with clear user guidance, modern communication and a technical basis for internal processes and future search and usage patterns.
Photovoltaics Brand Relaunch

Task
For a photovoltaics provider, an innovative brand relaunch was to be conceived digitally and delivered together with agency and client. At its heart: energy independence, clear user guidance and a digital presence that combines depth of content with high design quality.
Approach
Working with agency and client, conception, UX and implementation came from one piece. Carefully produced content was translated into a functional, visually striking front-end that makes the new brand world tangible online.
The optimal angle for aligning photovoltaic modules became both the conceptual and mathematical foundation for numerous angles, cuts and compositions across the entire site. Multi-step forms in the shape of wizards make it easier for prospective customers to request quotes and guide them through the inquiry process.
On top of Statamic, Livewire and Alpine, FAQ and blog were implemented and all content was structured SEO-compliantly with JSON schemas to support indexing and visibility in search engines.
Outcome
The result is a distinctive digital presence that brings strategy, design and conversion together cleanly. The platform pairs strong brand staging with functional lead generation and a search-engine-friendly technical foundation.

About_
I started my journey in 1999 at “argonauten”, during the early days of the web. As head of IT, I helped grow the company into one of Germany's largest digital agencies. Learned a lot about technology, development, strategic conception and team leadership — and about thinking in terms of brands, audiences and real user value.
Self-employed since 2005. First building websites and smaller applications on WordPress. With Laravel from version 5.3 onwards, the focus shifted to demanding web applications.
Today I lead and build larger platform projects for agencies and direct clients: complex websites, SaaS products, member and customer portals, solutions for process digitisation. Responsible for architecture, code quality and the interplay of business, brand, user experience and technology.
